A panel to reel them in at Leybourne Lakes

Designing interpretive panels can be a tricky business. Will visitors read them? If they do, will they retain what they've read? Or will they just walk past without a second glance? As more panels appear in more places and become an increasingly common sight, there is perhaps more danger of people ignoring them.

When the Valley of Visions project commissioned Clarity to produce a panel for Leybourne Lakes Country Park, it quickly became apparent they were looking for something a bit special - something arresting and eye-catching that visitors would be hard pressed to walk past. And yet it had to be in keeping with the site.

Clarity have been working with one of our associates to develop a sculptural carved timber structure depicting human activities at the site like fishing and sailing, and wildlife such as mute swans, water voles and dragonflies. We hope it will lure in visitors as well as providing a tactile experience for those with visual impairments.
